In the legacy edition EODR (available at seedsofthyme ) there is some info about blue tansy's rarity and luxury skin care uses along with some medical properties of being hormone-like, antifungal relaxant, anti-inflammatory, etc..
While I couldn't find very much at pubmed.gov , I did find this gem of an article posted from the Raindrop Training article archives. At the time it was written Young Living didn't have some of the oils,
As you probably know, Dr David Stewart, YL Diamond, was one of my mentors and a genius and has written over 16 books, among them The Chemistry of Essential Oils,
Besides mentioning Blue Tansy, this piece has Gary's Magic Formula in it.
In this piece, I've excluded the contact information about Creer Labs, which no longer exists. This was Gary's private lab and go-to place for oils that never made it to our Price List, either because of scarcity of that oil or because it only had a few uses, often in blends. Rex Kidman
headed that lab, I think for its lifetime.

CONFUSION ABOUT TANSY
by David Stewart, PhD, DNM
In the last issue of the Raindrop Messenger (Nov-Dec 2007, V5N6) a formula for making your own helichrysum is given. One of the ingredients is listed as "Wild Tansy."
You won't find "Wild Tansy" in Young Living's price list or Product Guide. What you do find is "Idaho Tansy."
Wild tansy and Idaho tansy are one and the same species, viz. Tanacetum vulgare.
There is another kind of tansy oil called Blue Tansy, but this is a different species, viz. Tanacetum annum. This last tansy is what gives the blue color to the Valor Blend and is an ingredient in Gary's Magic Relief Formula.
Helichrysum blend = Equal parts of the following:
~^~ Clary Sage
~^~ Elemi
~^~ Roman Chamomile
~^~ Idaho Tansy
~^~ Wintergreen
~^~ Ylang Ylang

Obtaining the Oils for Gary's Magic Formula
by David Stewart, PhD, DNM
Gary Young's Magic Relief Recipe is given in the last issue of the Raindrop Messenger (Nov-Dec 2007). Among other things, the formula calls for German (Blue) Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annum), and fir oil.
The question has arisen as to where to get the first two of these. The answer is this: Creer Lab carries both the Blue Chamomile and the Blue Tansy. Creer Lab is owned by Gary Young and is associated with Young Living to carry oils for which there is insufficient supply to make them available widely to the entire Young Living membership. Their address is as follows:
(I have removed only this information as Creer Labs no longer exists. Diane)
With respect to the fir oil, the question is "Which fir?" Young Living currently sells three species of fir oil: Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea), White Fir (Abies grandis), and Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). Douglas fir is not a true fir and not the one Gary had in mind for his formula. As for the other two (Balsam and White), they have almost the same chemistry, each with 75-95% monoterpenes and 5-20% Esters. Either of these two firs would work in the magic formula. In both cases, the dominant ester is bornyl acetate, which is also the dominant ester in Spruce oil which gives Valor its distinctive aroma.
As evergreens, firs look much the same as spruces at a distance. However, the needles of spruce are square or four-sided while those of the firs are flat or two-sided. You can twirl a spruce needle between your fingers, but the flat fir needles won't twirl. Spruce oils are higher in esters than firs while fir oils are higher in monoterpenes, but both classes of compounds are found in both kinds of oils. Esters are emotionally releasing while monoterpenes restore proper programming at cellular levels. Spruce cones hang down while fir cones are upright. Spruce is use mostly for pulpwood in making paper while fir is used mostly for lumber. But I digress.
As for the original question, "Which fir to use in the Magic Formula?" I would probably use Balsam Fir, but White would work too.
While the formula for Gary's Magic Relief Formula is given in the last issue of the Raindrop Messenger, here it is again with the specific fir recommended:
1 ounce V-6 mixing oil
8 drops Spruce
8 drops Sandalwood
7 drops Balsam Fir
5 drops Hyssop
4 drops Lemongrass
5 drops Helichrysum
4 drops Wintergreen (or Birch)
2 drops German (Blue) Chamomile*
1 drop Blue Tansy*
* The last two oils are used in Young Living blends, but are not sold by Young Living as individual oils. They can be obtained from Creer Lab, as mentioned above. As for the Helichrysum, if you don't have any, you can make your own from other oils available from Young Living according to the formula given in the last Raindrop Messenger (Nov-Dec 2007,
Vol 5 No 6).

This past weekend I had a micro-current session to sample a device that is supposed to help heal scars and since have teeth removed and so much dental work, I had the idea it might be worth doing that. Well, it took a long time, the woman said normally scars 'clear' in under a minute and my right side of my face took almost 10 minutes. I broke out in a couple spots the next day where the device was used AND my scar on my right clavicle began to itch and I have a bit of raised rashy area there. So, I have just applied some blue tansy to those areas to see if it helps it clear up. google ai says it could be from whatever they cleaned the device probes with or the device itself causing an allergic response, but I tend to think it's likely just my body expelling something from the dental work, hard to know exactly.

One of our instructors passed along this wisdom this past weekend. Michael and I studied and practiced massage techniques with some masters for THREE full days. I will admit that my brain felt like mush by the end of that last class! We are committed to always improving ourselves, always learning, and praying we can help others. Since I met Michael back in 2015, I remember hearing him talk about how impressive Erik Dalton's work was in the massage realm. May he rest in peace, sadly we didn't act soon enough to take any classes from him. He was scheduled to be a keynote speaker at this massage conference, but instead, several tributes were given by his daughter and other instructors who studied with him and teach his work. We had an 8 hour class in Treating Trapped Nerves and Reflex Spasm known as Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques with Tammy McCue.
We had a total of 24 hours of instruction and learned techniques like tractioning, nerve flossing, fascia movement, assessment tips and importance, and were inspired to keep studying anatomy and thinking smarter about how to help people out of pain. We learned some techniques specific to shoulders and hands, and some specific to feet, ankles, and calves. I learned some awesome lower body active isolated stretching techniques along with some resistance techniques for those with hypermobile joints (my left ankle and general bendiness myself).
As wonderful as all these classes were, I left thinking how much every therapist and everyone else needs to know about Young Living's cool azul pain cream, our massage oils, our emotional oils, our Raindrop Technique, and how all the things we have in Young Living, truly are as Gary said, The MISSING LINK. A fellow student asked the instructor after practicing one technique how long it would 'hold' and the answer shocked me. He said maybe not even a day without the person doing exercises to strenghten the muscles allowing for the misalignment. I thought in my head, 'gosh, he doesn't know about valor or aromasiez or copaiba or peppermint then.' Our oils help with the emotional component to the issue at the same time they help with 'muscle memory' AND the desire of the person to take care of themselves. So many times, I have wanted to do better myself because of using these oils. 'Oils rejoice the heart.' When someone has had an injury or a chronic issue, they can get pretty depressed about all the costs involved, the time away from friends or family and/or work. So, having a pain option that supports emotional health and can seriously speed up the healing process is super fantabulous!
I can remember being amazed at how quickly what should have or would have been a weeks long gooseegg on my grandbabies heads would just be gone sometimes overnight the swelling would disappear and color be normal within days. I remember my kids gooseeggs when learning to crawl and walk and they'd get big and turn all the colors cause I didn't have valor or copaiba back then. When my son was in martial arts, he had a number of 'accidents' that we would use a few raindrop oils and copaiba on and they would just be fine within a day or two. We saved a lot of time, a lot of money, and spared him pain by using safe natural products (oils and prayer and nutrition).
Each therapist (and individual) could be working on their wellness and stamina with Ningxia Red, essentialzyme, multigreens, Super C, agilease, etc.. I am SO incredibly thankful that we can purchase safe, natural, effective oils and supplements that don't have potentially harmful ingredients. One of the products one instructor was recommending at this event actually had a warning on it for anyone with kidney disease to not use it! Yikes. If you are using a product in your work that is absorbed into your body, you need to look up those ingredients. Reach out and ask me if you need a safer way. We can help so many people if each one teaches someone each month about endocrine-disrupting chemicals and ditching those to switch to safe products.
And if you have not had a Raindrop Technique yet, ask your sponsor or ME how to get one!!
Reach out to your local massage therapist and take your own Young Living massage oil with you and ask for a simple Swedish massage and introduce them to the magic of Young Living. Everyone should get a regular massage and a regular Raindrop just for health maintenance. And if you are a bodyworker, chiro, LMT, PT, and get a chance to take one of James Wasleski's classes, you will not regret it!!

Happy Mother's Day!!
When I began using essential oils in 2007 after my first Healing oils of the Bible class and Raindrop Technique, I had NO intentions of having a wellness business nor practice. I was sick, grief-stricken, mold and yeast and mercury ridden, and just wanted to live a quiet life and have the energy to raise my children. Today on Mother's Day May 11, 2025, a photo or two took me down memory lane. My mom shared a photo of myself and my 3 brothers when I was about 4 years old. There were 4 of us. That triggered the painful memory that I once had 4 children, but then I quickly thought, like Job, God replaced what was lost, he gave me a sweet charming handsome entrepreneurial and hardworking stepson.
Thinking about then and now and all the things that have happened in between made me want to share more about the amazing trips we've taken because of Gary Young's vision and trailblazing example. Because I share oils and hopefully hope with everyone I meet, even those I didn't plan on but they ask because they see and smell something different, I have been blessed back by Young Living. When you share oils with someone and teach them the YL way and they pay foward what you share, Young Living's comp plan pays you not just in $, but in leadership retreats and Young Living event opportunities, and service trip opportunities. Each of these are full of education from the others you attend with, and the company employees, and doctors and scientists and farm workers as each of them shares with you as go. Year after year, this adds up to an education in not just aromatherapy, but in holistic lifestyles, mentality shifts, geography, culture, servitude, business, and more. I had no extra money and no extra energy and all kinds of anxiety about leaving my home for so many years of my life, so I look back and think wow, how amazing is God? and how amazing is this Young Living business?! Look to see more photos from our trips! If you go to the Young Living website, there is an event tab where you can see what is going on that you can be a part of. Convention in Salt Lake City each year is like a family reunion now, get your ticket, plane ticket or drive, get an airbnb to share with friends or a hotel, just do it! This is Michael and I in the distillery in Spain, 2019, holding Cistus flowers, still my favorite oil.

When I had my first root canal, I was only 10. I remember the dentist saying it was because of all the antibiotics. I suffered chronic ear infections that then became sinus infections into early adulthood. I remember as a child having dreams that my teeth were falling apart, and over the years they did, much to my dismay. A lot of dental expense only made it worse, as each one put mercury amalgams or root canals and then crowns in tooth after tooth. Mercury amalgams off gas into the body and expand and contract at different rates than the living tooth matrix and the root canals one by one failed with infection at the root. Somewhere around 2012 several other friends had been telling me they had to get mercury amalgams removed and detox to get over their health issues and the thought of that was overwhelming to me at the time as I had SO many teeth with big metal fillings not to mention feeling as if I had no money for that and no willpower or physical stamina for it. One day I scanned with a friend's pro zyto system and the top product I needed was a chelex tincture now out of stock, but designed to help the body detox heavy metals. When I took the first dose of that tincture, I broke out in hot red rashes over the largest mercury amalgam teeth on my face and nose. I knew then that I had to get rid of the source of brain poison. During that season I was constantly having my kids correct words as I would think one word, but actually say a different word. I now call that 'mercury brain'. It doesn't happen, thankfully now that I've done a lot of work to detox. I have had rounds of dentist visits and various nutritional Iv's, chelation IVs, colon hydrotherapy sessions, lymphatic drainage massages, infrared saunas, regular sauna, cold plunges, ozone therapies, ozone blood Ivs, special Ivs from our Nova Vita clinic (you can go in June to a foundation trip and help with building the school expansion or in August with me), and most recently another oral ozone treatment and vit C cocktail Iv at the Mexican clinic. So I am now missing a lot of teeth. I have had to do a lot of forgiveness oil over the years for the dentists who poisoned me and took money for it. Yeah thats how I see it because it doesnt take much research to learn there are ways to first do no harm but the average dentist is practicing with old info. Now there is a way for dentists to use a laser instead of a burr drill and that method doesn't leave bacteria inside your teeth once filled. Don't trust the professional, ask questions. Do your own research. Save your teeth if you can. They are a sign of your overall health: see the chart connecting the tooth to the organ in your body.
You can find a better dentist thru this organization: https://iabdm.org/

Our Thieves Mouthwash in a water pick, oil pulling with coconut oil and a drop of thieves, Thieves toothpaste are some ways to support your dental health, I am certain these practices helped me keep the affected teeth longer than I'd have without them and the ones I have left never have plaque buildup. I wish I'd had these products when I was younger and essential oils instead of meds when I was a child and young adult. I praise the Lord that at least my grandchildren all know essential oils and Ningxia Red.

This last few years I was trying to heal from infection leftover from a removed root canal tooth. The infection was in the jaw and spread to the root of a tooth that I had a bridge attached to. That tooth broke and then a back tooth the bridge also attached to began to crumble when the dentist took the bridge off. The presented options were first 2 more root canals and a new bridge or remove the teeth and do implants. Being allergic to antibiotics, I do not take them nor pain killers. I spent a year of my life taking enough motrin that it's a miracle my kidneys held up. After this extraction, both of my cheeks broke out in a rough red rash that I think is from the anesthetic - that's the only medication I couldn't do it without those injections for the dental work. I don't feel like I can heal the implants; but pray about that for me because having implants that healed well would be a lot nicer than dealing with dentures. For now, I'm supporting my body and mind (I had no fear about this recent work) using valor, deep spectra coriander/sandalwood, phytonutrition, lavender, copaiba, agilease, inner defense, multigreens, Super C, Ningxia, essentialzymes, extra turmeric, golden turmeric, protein complete, and chia pudding and whatever other good stuffs I remember!

Those of you who want to keep your eyes must keep your liver healthy. At my last eye exam for new glasses, the eye doc told me to please wear sunglasses and eat more collards, chard, and cooked spinach. She didn't know about multi-greens and Ningxia yet. I had slacked off on multi-greens, thinking I got enough from my diet and I had thought of multi-greens as just for my heavy metal detox needs in the past, so I wasn't super consistent. In these days (not just old age) we must be diligent to feed our bodies for longevity. in Ecuador in February 2025, the doc reading my blood analysis showed me that now my blood looks much better than 6 months prior but white blood cell increase shows infection and these spidery type things indicate liver stress. My hormones are good, not as much acid or cholesterol deposits as last time, so all in all pretty good but now I'm looking to support my liver (just ordered glf and juvacleanse in my March Loyalty Rewards order to take and I'm gonna make up medical medium liver cleanse recipes and juice beets wtih celery juice daily now).
Enjoy this great info from our YL product scientist Chris Bowerbank:
Ah,

Who here likes pistachios?
Did you know #pistachios are the only nut with a measurable amount of the #carotenoid known as lutein? They actually contain both lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids that make up our eyes' #macular pigment.
A new study just published showed that eating two handfuls (about 2 ounces or 57 grams) of pistachios a day for 90 days may lead to a significant improvement in what is called "macular pigment optical density", or MPOD. #MPOD is a measure of eye health, and higher levels of MPOD protect the eyes from blue light and age-related damage.
The total #lutein and #zeaxanthin in two handfuls of pistachios is just 1.65 milligrams (mg).
The minimum recommended levels of lutein and zeaxanthin for consistent eye health is typically 10 mg/day for lutein and 2 mg/day for zeaxanthin.
So you have two choices to get the total amount of recommended lutein and zeaxanthin: eat LOTS of pistachios, or take one Illumineyes capsule per day (
We have known about the benefit of lutein and zeaxanthin on eye health for quite some time. That is why #YoungLiving
introduced Illumineyes a few years ago.
#Illumineyes has a total of 24 mg of lutein (20 mg) and zeaxanthin (4 mg) from #marigold flowers in each capsule.
A key to maintaining eye health is taking lutein and zeaxanthin consistently. Our bodies DO NOT make lutein or zeaxanthin, so we MUST supply our bodies by either our
Be sure to include at least 1 capsule of Illumineyes per day in your daily
routine!
